December 15, 2021 – Webinar: Rural Funding Opportunities for Clean Transportation
December 15, 2021 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm

Dec. 15, 2021, 1 p.m. Central – Webinar: Rural Funding Opportunities for Clean Transportation
Local governments, businesses, hospitals and schools across the country are saving money and enjoying cleaner air by transitioning fleets to U.S. clean fuels and advanced vehicle technologies. But too often, rural communities miss out on these benefits because they don’t have equitable access to information, infrastructure and financing support.
Join the Transportation Energy Partners‘ Drive Clean Rural USA Webinar to learn about federal resources available to help rural communities save money, reduce air pollution, meet decarbonization goals and enhance economic development by transitioning fleets to American made alternative fuels and vehicles. Drive Clean Indiana is a proud partner on the Drive Clean Rural USA project.
During the Webinar, Ken Brown, TEP’s executive director, will lead a discussion on:
- Funding opportunities made possible by the recently signed bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, including:
- The new $5 billion EPA Clean School Bus Program, which will prioritize rural and other underserved communities.
- $2.5 billion in DOT competitive grants to install electric charging and other alternative fueling infrastructure, which will prioritize rural and other underserved communities.
- $3.75 billion in Federal Transit Administration competitive grants for buses and bus facilities, which will now have a 15 percent set-aside for rural communities and a 25 percent minimum target for clean fuel buses.
- How your community can get ready to access current and planned federal incentives for transitioning fleets to biodiesel, propane, natural gas, electric, and hydrogen.
- How one rural fleet has cut fuel and maintenance costs and reduced air pollution by transitioning to cleaner, U.S. fuels.
