SUMMARY:Home Energy Rebate Listening Session Statewide Virtual Kickoff
DESCRIPTION:April 30\, 2024 | Tuesday | 5:30pm CST \nIndiana Office of Energy Development Home Energy Rebate Listening Session \nThe first virtual meeting\, a statewide kickoff\, is scheduled for Tuesday\, April 30\, at 5:30 pm CST. \nInterested stakeholders may register here: April 30\, 2024 – Statewide Virtual Kickoff \n\nFunded by federal legislation and administered through the U.S. Department of Energy\, the State of Indiana will receive approximately $182 million to assist Hoosiers in reducing the cost of energy by improving the energy efficiency of their homes through qualified energy efficiency upgrades\, retrofits\, and high-efficiency appliances. \nThe Home Energy Rebate programs consist of the two separate and distinct energy efficiency-related programs below\, but OED will administer them jointly to maximize impact to Hoosiers. They are expected to become available to Hoosiers in Fall 2024. The timing is subject to change based upon the progress of developing the full program applications and receiving approval from the U.S. Department of Energy. \nIn-person meetings are planned to be held in the following locations. Specific venue locations for the in-person meetings will be announced soon. If you plan to attend an in-person stakeholder engagement meeting\, please register by clicking on the city below where you plan to attend and completing the registration. \n\nAbout the Home Efficiency Rebate Program (HOMES Program)\n\nFocuses on energy efficiency upgrades and retrofits to residential buildings\, both single-family and multi-family dwellings.\nQualified energy efficiency upgrades that achieve at least 20% in energy savings will be eligible for rebates up to the lesser of $2\,000 or 50% of the project cost. Projects that achieve greater energy efficiency savings or occur for a low-income household (less than 80% Area Median Income) may be eligible for greater rebates.\n\n\nAbout the Home Appliance Rebate Program\n\nThe Home Appliance Rebate program is exclusively for low- and moderate-income households (less than 150% Area Median Income) to purchase high-efficiency equipment. Like the HOMES program\, both single-family and multi-family dwellings qualify.\nThe rebate amounts are set by the federal legislation and include equipment such as heat pump water heaters\, heat pumps for space heating and cooling\, stoves\, clothes dryers\, and includes certain electrical upgrades like service load centers and electric wiring.\n\n\n\n\n\nWednesday\, May 22\, 2024  |  7:30p – 9:30p EST (6:30p – 8:30p CST) |  Gary\n\nVenue Location: TBD\n\n\nTuesday\, June 11\, 2024  |  6:30p – 8:30p EST (5:30p – 7:30p CST) |  Indianapolis\n\nVenue Location: TBD\n\n\nThursday\, June 13\, 2024  |  7:30p – 9:30p EST (6:30p – 8:30p CST) | Evansville\n\nVenue Location: TBD\n\n\nTuesday\, June 25\, 2024  |  6:30p – 8:30p EST (5:30p – 7:30p CST)  |  Fort Wayne\n\nVenue Location: TBD\n\n\n\nA final virtual meeting\, a statewide closeout\, will be held and is scheduled for the following date and time: \n\nVirtual Closing Session on Thursday\, June 27\, 2024|  6:30p – 7:00p EST (5:30p – 6:00p CST)\n\nRegistration for Final Virtual Meeting will be provided soon! \nFor those who are unable to attend the virtual or in-person meetings\, input can be provided by email submitting comments and suggestion to rebates@oed.in.gov. \n
