DESCRIPTION:May 12\, 2018 – 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. CDT\nPorter County Expo Center\, 215 E. Division Rd.\, Valparaiso\nThe Environmental Protection Agency estimates that the average household disposes of one pound of hazardous waste each year. “Household hazardous waste” or “HHW” are unwanted products that contain corrosive\, toxic\, ignitable or reactive ingredients that require special care upon disposal. Find out what we’ll accept\, and what products we won’t accept. There will be a gas can exchange at this event. Old gas cans will be exchanged for new environmentally friendly 2.5-gallon gas cans. Supplies of these cans are very limited\, and they will be distributed on a first-come\, first-served basis. Limit one new gas can per vehicle/family.
